Get Involved! ETC Volunteer Opportunities

ETC is an organization that runs on the leadership and contributions of its members. Volunteering with ETC is a great way to give back to the organization, contribute to our professional field, meet some great people, and grow your own resume. There are three main areas of volunteerism within ETC: the Board of Directors, committees, and task forces. Visit our Volunteering Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page to learn more about the application process, time commitments, and duties.

Committees, either standing or non-standing, are established by the Board based on a perceived need for an ongoing study/work group on behalf of the entire membership. Standing committees are in existence as a result of the organization's Bylaws and continue until the Bylaws are amended. Non-standing committees are considered to be those special committees that are established by the board. See General Guidelines for Committees and Their Chairs for more information.

If you are interested in getting more involved in ETC by participating in one of the committees mentioned here, please contact the Executive Office or fill out the Call for Volunteers form to express interest.

Interest Groups

Interest Groups (IGs) are casual collections of members around shared topics related to the profession. The Board shall appoint an Interest Group Leader to facilitate the needs and requests of the IGs to the Board, but each IG may structure their participation as fits their members.
